Jun 04, 2026"I was photographing a Wedding at the Nomad yesterday, and came across this lovely store, very clean! I ordered a salted matcha and a chai latte! The matcha was amazing, and the branding is so lovely, I just had to buy a matcha powder to take home too! The staff member on the coffee was really efficient, friendly and just good at his job, taking orders and making them, multi tasking like a boss. I will come back if I get the chance Joe"

Mar 30, 2026"I’m a simple man. When I discover a new café, I look for three things: a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and—most importantly—exceptional coffee. Sontag has all that and more. I work just up the road and stop by every morning for a cup of batch filter coffee and a chat with the lovely team. It’s genuinely the best part of my working day. They always have an exciting rotation of filter coffees, and I’m convinced it sets the tone for the rest of my day. If I’m lucky enough to see a geisha on batch, I know it’s going to be a glorious one. I’ve also been fortunate enough to try a beautifully crafted pour-over by Seiji, the true master of coffee. Not only did it lift my mood, it opened my eyes to the fact that there are levels to making a truly great pour-over—I still have a lot to learn! When I mentioned that I make coffee at home myself, his eyes lit up with unparalleled joy, and he even gave me some samples to try. A true gentleman. But what really makes Sontag special is the people. The owner, Joseph, along with Dom, Ayumi, and Aro (the girl who always has the best outfits), never fail to put a smile on my face. Their warmth, care, and attention to detail create a space that feels more like a community than just a café. Sontag isn’t just somewhere I grab coffee—it’s somewhere I look forward to being. And in a busy world, that’s a rare and wonderful thing."

Mar 09, 2026"The barista was nice and really helpful in providing advice about drinks. We ordered a black americano and iced sea salt latte, both decaf. The sea salt latte was phenomenal, a great balance between saltiness and sweetness, it got you craving more. Black americano was using Facility blend. Would recommend and come back! Fyi to those buying hojicha powder, the staff member mentioned if you bring the tin back, it's 10% off for refills."
